Job Title: Senior Heavy Civil Estimator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team at EllisDon. As a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including earthworks, site development, and road building.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze contract documents to prepare cost estimates, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build.
  2. Assemble and organize estimates, including quantity take-offs and subcontractor quotes.
  3. Develop schedules and determine production rates for accuracy.
  4. Contact subcontractors and vendors for external pricing.
  5. Monitor project success, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades.
  6. Identify potential project risks and attend pre-tender meetings and site visits.
  7. Work with proposal and operations teams to write execution methodology, safety plans, and quality documentation.
  8. Present estimates to management for review.

Requirements:

We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic individual with 8+ years of estimating experience. Project management and field experience are assets, as is familiarity with B2W suite. Good communication and documentation skills are essential.
