Job Title: Dispatcher (Afternoon Shift)

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Dispatcher to join our team in Ayr, ON. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our services by communicating with drivers, handling service orders, and resolving customer issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule service and satisfy customer needs for service changes, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Dispatch calls to routes based on designated routes and driver locations.
  • Perform driver check-ins at day's end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion.
  • Distribute, collect, and review route sheets for proper data entry.
  • Ensure coordination with other departments to resolve service issues.
  • Interact with customers, customer service, sales, and operations staff.
  • Work with routing specialists to optimize routes.
  • Field incoming calls and emails from customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pickup problems.
  • Assist in determining daily driver staffing levels.
  • Record and document information from drivers and distribute to relevant departments.
Requirements:
  • Completion of high school; post-secondary courses or diploma considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of industry an asset.
