Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Management Technician to join our team at the Canadian Army Reserve. As a Materials Management Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing and Inventory Management: Manage the purchasing, warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock control, and disposal of obsolete stock and equipment.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Receive, handle, and prepare items for shipment, and operate military vehicles weighing up to 10 tons and materials-handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • Financial Management: Process invoices and prepare shipping documents, and maintain accounting and financial records.
  • Logistics and Transportation: Order material from internal and external sources, purchase supplies, and deliver supplies and provide services to operational units.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Perform record keeping, stock taking, and inventory control.

Training and Development:

As a Materials Management Technician, you will be required to complete the Basic Military Qualification course and the Materials Management Technician training course. These courses will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role.

Work Schedule:

As a reservist, you will work one night a week and one weekend per month during the September to April timeframe. You may also have opportunities for full-time summer employment.
