Culturally Responsive Education - A Key to Success

In this vital role, you will work closely with academic leaders, faculty, and subject matter experts to design, develop, and enhance curricula that reflect Mi'kmaq/Indigenous perspectives. Your expertise in culturally responsive teaching and learning methodologies will ensure that educational initiatives prioritize equity, accessibility, and academic quality.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement culturally responsive curriculum development projects
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities, Academic Schools, and internal partners to create transformative learning experiences
- Provide expert guidance on culturally responsive curriculum development
- Ensure alignment with guiding frameworks such as the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and the CICAN Indigenous Education Protocol

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mi'kmaq/Indigenous Studies, Education, Social Work, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Mi'kmaq/Indigenous worldviews, histories, and current realities
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with Mi'kmaq/Indigenous communities, focusing on education or curriculum development

Benefits:
- Competitive salary scale for Professional Support 5 based on steps ranging from $77,032.43 to $102,412.68
- Opportunity for up to seven steps for relevant occupational experience, resulting in an annual salary of $89,704.12

Additional Information:
- As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a part-time adult education program delivered by NSCC
