About Us

Torbay Road Animal Hospital is a leading veterinary clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. We are seeking an experienced Associate & Managing Veterinarian to join our team.

Compensation Package

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, which may increase to $104,167 CAD/year if practicing pursuant to a conditional temporary license. Additionally, the position comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation/sick leave, Continuing Education (CE) allowance, VIN membership, annual licenses paid, employer's medical plan, and more.

Job Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic Procedures: Perform routine therapeutic procedures, such as vaccinations and dental work, to ensure the optimal health of our patients.
  • Surgical Services: Conduct veterinary surgery in routine and emergency cases, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
  • Patient Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring seamless communication between our team members.
  • Post-Operative Observation: Monitor patients' recovery progress and provide necessary care to prevent complications.
  • Client Billing: Accurately process client billing, ensuring timely payment for services rendered.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest veterinary practices and advancements.
  • Diagnostic Services: Examine animals, diagnose problems or diseases through physical examinations or laboratory tests, and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Clinical Consultations: Consult with pet owners about preventive healthcare, hygiene, and general care of their pets.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Possess a 4-5 year university degree in veterinary medicine, along with any required pre-veterinary studies for the university program.
  • Certification: Completion of national certification examinations or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Licensure: Hold provincial licensing in Newfoundland and Labrador or be able to obtain it.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrate a passion for your work, enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude. Show a strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients.
  • Communication: Possess solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships.
  • Availability: Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
