About This Role

The Treasury Analytics Group (TAG) is seeking a Solutions Design IT Specialist to join the Wholesale Liquidity Technology team. This role will focus on enhancing the Wholesale liquidity platform, used by liquidity reporting operations and TBSM Wholesale liquidity teams in Canada and the US. The application produces daily liquidity metrics for regulators and provides data for business analysis.

As a senior design specialist, you will be responsible for evolving the platform using the latest technologies, including Cassandra, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Rest API, SQL, Angular, Azure, Java, and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical designs, strategic technologies, software development, and agile development processes.

The ideal candidate will have regulatory liquidity reporting/risk management knowledge and be able to work closely with business and technology partners, project teams, and stakeholders. This role will provide opportunities to expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise, and work with a team of seasoned technology and finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical designs and guide other team members
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical professionals
  • Develop a good understanding of Market Risk management processes in the Banking business
  • Play a key role in driving technical designs and leading big-data architecture and development

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in big data technologies, e.g. Scala, Spark, Cassandra
  • 7+ years of experience in database (SQL Server and NoSQL)
  • 3+ years of experience in web development
  • Demonstrated experience in solution design at scale and leading big-data architecture and development
  • Experience writing System Design Specifications (SDS)
  • Experience leading other developers
  • Experience with development tools and frameworks such as Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Nexus
  • Knowledge of SSO, MFA, PingFed, OIDC, OAuth

  • GitHub Workflows/Actions
  • Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Azure EventHub, and Azure Databricks
