Job Summary

We are looking for a Second Cook who is passionate about cooking and has a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, ordering supplies and equipment, supervising kitchen staff and helpers, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and cleaning kitchen and work areas.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food to maintain high standards of quality and safety
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain efficient kitchen operations
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure smooth service and high-quality food
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment to ensure efficient use and minimize waste
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
Work Setting

The Second Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing and cooking meals for guests. The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and provide excellent customer service.
