As a key member of ClearVision Technologies, Inc.’s multidisciplinary design team, the Machine Vision Developer - Visionary Algorithm Specialist will play a pivotal role in developing and refining machine vision algorithms for new and existing products. This encompasses the entire development cycle, from concept to deployment, including field testing.

The position involves direct interaction with field service engineers, creation of basic documentation, and provision of office hours support to customers and field service engineers. Some travel is expected to facilitate product development, with collaboration with the ClearVision team in Vancouver and Valco Melton engineers worldwide. ClearVision Technologies, Inc. offers a social and supportive work environment with organized lunches and other employee events.

  1. Development of efficient and robust machine vision algorithms.
  2. Collaboration with software and mechatronics developers to create a comprehensive quality assurance solution.
  3. Testing of algorithms in an industrial setting.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in machine vision programming.
  • 2+ years of industrial experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in either C++ or C#.
  • 2+ years of OpenCV experience.
  • 2+ years of machine learning.

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to create reliable machine vision algorithms that operate effectively under varying lighting and imaging conditions.
  • Capacity to apply creative ideas to design fast and well-optimized algorithms.
  • Ability to create and train datasets to produce robust models deployable to customer sites.

Preferred Skills:

  • Visual Studio.
  • Git, source code revision control.
  • Understanding of lighting and imaging principles.

Preferred Personal Qualities:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude.
  • Driver’s license class 5.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering- or science-related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
