Mold Maintenance Specialist

At Mauser Packaging Solutions, we are seeking a skilled Mold Technician to join our team. As a Mold Technician, you will be responsible for performing and tracking routine preventive maintenance on all production tools, repairing molds as required, and overseeing all work and work orders for all molds.
Key Responsibilities:- Preventive Maintenance: Perform and track routine preventive maintenance on all production tools to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Mold Repair: Repair molds as required by welding and machining to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Work Order Management: Oversee all work and work orders for all molds to ensure timely completion and minimize delays.
- SMED Changes: Manage all SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) changes to production molds to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Inventory Management: Organize all inserts in cabinets and maintain cabinets to ensure easy access and minimize waste.
- Mold Changes: Oversee all mold changes and report on their status to ensure smooth production.
- Mold Downtime: Responsible for mold downtime and report on its causes to identify areas for improvement.
- Team Leadership: Direct fellow team members in daily workload to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with tooling vendors on repairs to ensure timely completion and minimize delays.
- Safety and Quality: Maintain a safe inventory stock on mold parts, initiate purchase orders for parts, inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, and work daily with the Quality department on defects.
- On-Call Program: Participate in the on-call program and may be required to work additional hours as needed.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance-related position within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Skills: Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.; ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges; basic understanding of systems, equipment, and schematics; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; good troubleshooting skills; basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions; ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties.
