Mold Maintenance Specialist

At Mauser Packaging Solutions, we are seeking a skilled Mold Technician to join our team. As a Mold Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production tools and molds.
Responsibilities:- Preventive Maintenance: Perform and track routine preventive maintenance on all production tools to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Mold Repair and Maintenance: Repair molds as required, utilizing welding and machining skills to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
- Work Order Management: Oversee all work and work orders for all molds, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with team members.
- SMED Changes: Manage all SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) changes to production molds, ensuring seamless implementation and minimal disruption to production.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain all inserts in cabinets, ensuring accurate inventory levels and efficient access to parts.
- Mold Changes and Reports: Oversee all mold changes and generate reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Mold Downtime: Identify and report mold downtime, working with the team to resolve issues and minimize impact on production.
- Team Leadership: Direct fellow team members in daily workload, providing guidance and support to ensure effective collaboration and productivity.
- Vendor Communication: Work with tooling vendors on repairs, ensuring timely and effective communication to resolve issues.
- Safety and Inventory: Maintain a safe inventory stock on mold parts, initiating purchase orders as needed and inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Quality Collaboration: Work daily with the Quality department on defects, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
- On-Call Program: Participate in the on-call program, being available to work additional hours as required to support production needs.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance-related position within a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Skills: Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc. Ability to use precision measuring devices, including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges. Basic understanding of systems, equipment, and schematics. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills. Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions. Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties.
