Architectural Internship Opportunity at Architecture 49

At Architecture 49, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern Architect to join our CENTRUS team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a complex long-term heritage renovation project, the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, which is a national interest project within the Parliamentary Precinct.

The successful candidate will assist our architects and senior team members in project design, construction detailing, and researching appropriate materials. You will also be responsible for validating plans with project programs and applying code analyses prepared by senior architects. Additionally, you will review existing documentation, visit sites to gather data, and prepare architectural drawings, documentation, models, and visualizations.

We are looking for a candidate with an accredited professional architectural degree from a CACB recognized University, registration in, or eligibility to register in, a provincial professional internship program, and 1-5+ years of relevant experience in an Architectural consulting firm. Knowledge of BIM principles & workflows, REVIT software, AutoCAD software, Microsoft 365 environment, and Bluebeam is also required. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of visualization software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Generative Design Tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist architects and senior team members in project design.
  • Construction detailing and researching appropriate materials.
  • Validate plans with project programs and apply code analyses prepared by senior architects.
  • Review existing documentation and visit site to gather data for the preparation of architectural drawings, documentation, models, and visualizations.
  • Actively maintain and progress the professional requirements for provincial internship.

Qualifications:

  • Accredited professional architectural degree from a CACB recognized University.
  • Registration in, or eligibility to register in, a provincial professional internship program.
  • 1-5+ years of relevant experience in an Architectural consulting firm.
