Job Title: Manager of Technical Services

Meadow Lake Tribal Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of Manager of Technical Services. The successful candidate will oversee the activities of the Circuit Rider Training Program, the Compliance Inspector Program, and the Data Coordinator. They will also manage the Band Asset Management Information System (BAMIS) on behalf of the First Nations and for Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), as well as assist the First Nations with all Capital Projects and respond to requests for aid.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day management and supervision of the Technical Services staff and program.
  • Compliance with reporting requirements of senior staff and funding agencies.
  • Preparation and management of the Technical Services Annual budget.
  • Assistance with housing programs and Capital projects for First Nations.
  • Preparation and update of Municipal System Emergency response plans.
  • Assistance with achieving and maintaining Certification with the Operator Certification Board.
  • Special projects on behalf of First Nations.
  • Assistance with CMHC Section 95 applications.
  • Response to emergencies or special requests from First Nations.
Requirements:
  • Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Three to five years of supervision/management of staff.
  • Engineering Degree in an applicable discipline (preferred).
  • Five or more years of experience in supervision/management of staff, preferably at a First Nations organization (preferred).
  • General knowledge of ISC reporting requirements, health and safety procedures, institutional building heating and ventilation systems, municipal sewer and water treatment systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and personal wellness.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours with extensive travel involved.
