Supervisor of Community Living Programs

The Supervisor, Community Living is responsible for the daily operations and supervision of the Community Living Program in accordance with Archway policies and funder guidelines. This role oversees delivery of services to individuals with diverse abilities, including developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder, in the Discovery Community Inclusion program, STAR program for children and youth, and the EPIC employment program.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provides support, leadership, direction, and supervision to all staff in the Community Living programs according to Archway policies, the Collective Agreement, and funder guidelines.
* Evaluates the performance of staff, provides feedback, and conducts performance evaluations.
* Identifies staff needs, such as training, management, and personal development.
* Manages and follows the hiring process for all new hires.
* Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with staff to provide ongoing support and problem resolution.
* Supports the Manager in implementing and managing initiatives that support the desired organizational culture and change.
* Communicates with stakeholders regarding daily program operations, including individuals' families and caregivers, staff members, MCFD, CLBC, community members, donor agencies, and local businesses.
* Assists the team in following Positive Behavior Support Plans and Safety Plans for individuals served.
* Assists the team in identifying and planning social, recreational, and skill-building activities for Discovery and STAR programs.
* Engages in collaborative problem-solving with individuals, staff, families, colleagues, and supervisors to resolve day-to-day issues and de-escalate tensions.
* Develops, manages, and updates the programs' budgets in consultation with the Manager, ensuring effective and appropriate allocation of funds and fiscal accountability.
* Ensures program delivery is consistent with agency and program mandate, policies, and procedures, as well as CARF, CLBC, and MCFD program standards.
Requirements:
* Diploma in a related human services/social services field and/or a relevant combination of education and experience.
* Valid Class 5 Driver's License, clean driving record, and a clear Driver's Abstract.
* Valid First Aid with CPR/AED Certification.
* Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training or Mandt training.
* Two years of recent related supervisory experience.
* Experience assisting individuals with diverse abilities.
* Experience managing a budget.
* Experience in a unionized environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of CARF accreditation process.
* Ability to navigate challenging conversations and sensitive topics.
* Ability to accept direction concerning client care matters.
* Ability to have direct, in-person contact with staff and clients.
* Ability to work in a high-paced environment with demanding deadlines.
* Ability to work with people in challenging, crisis, and conflict situations.
* Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
