Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Casual Transfer Station Attendant to join our team at our Rolla and Tomslake domestic garbage transfer sites. As a Transfer Station Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to individuals dropping off garbage and recycling. This role requires flexibility, including availability on Thursdays and occasional weekends for vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise good public relations at all times
  • Open and close access gates at the Transfer Station in accordance with hours of operation
  • Conduct routine inspections of perimeter fences to identify unauthorized entry, damage, or other issues
  • Dispose of unauthorized materials dumped at the entrance gate or other locations
  • Direct traffic flow at the Transfer Stations, prioritizing public safety and adhering to traffic management plans
  • Supervise waste placement into containers and the compactor system
  • Remove non-compliant materials from deposited loads
  • Prevent scavenging of waste, recyclables, or product stewardship materials
  • Maintain all buildings on site, including the yard, in a clean condition

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of general laborer experience
  • Competence in completing daily documents
  • Good understanding of regional Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work in challenging weather conditions
