Senior System Architect for High-Speed Railways

Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly experienced Senior System Architect to lead the development of complex electromechanical systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining system architecture, identifying operational scenarios and use cases, and leading scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customers.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have extensive experience in engineering lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle. They will also possess strong prior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams, as well as strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Define Concept of Operations for the project including identifying operational scenarios and use cases.
- Define System Architecture for the project (logical, functional, and physical architectures).
- Lead scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customer.
- Identify, define, control, and manage system interfaces.
- Decompose System Requirements to lower-level elements and work with the engineering teams to ensure proper allocation.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5-10 years engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years as a lead systems/design engineer.
- Extensive understanding and/or prior experience with engineering lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle.
- Prior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams.
- Strong prior experience with Microsoft Office suite, requirements management systems (e.g., Doors), product lifecycle management systems, defect tracking tools, and software configuration tools.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, long term disability, life and accident insurance, a retirement savings plan, and paid vacation.
