Caregiver - Nursing Support Specialist

At Marsh Haven, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Caregiver to join our nursing team. In this rewarding role, you will provide exceptional care and support to our patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
About the RoleThis permanent position offers a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, based on your experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, promoting patient independence and dignity.
- Provide personal care services, including toileting, feeding, and transferring patients, using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition, medication side effects, or other concerns to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, suppositories, and enemas as prescribed by the doctor, maintaining accurate records of dosages and administration times.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control practices and handling medical equipment properly.
- Participate in exercise routines and recreational activities with patients, encouraging physical activity and social interaction.
- Bathe, dress, and groom patients, promoting hygiene and self-care.
- Collect specimens, store them properly, and transport them to the laboratory for analysis.
- Deliver messages, reports, and requisitions between departments, facilitating communication and coordination among healthcare teams.
- Make beds, maintain patient rooms, and perform light housekeeping duties, contributing to a clean and comfortable environment.
- Supervise patients' exercise routines, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed.
- Transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers, following established safety protocols and procedures.
- Answer call signals promptly, assessing patients' needs and providing timely assistance.
- A minimum of 7 months of experience in a related field, preferably in a nursing home or hospital setting.
- A valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification.
- A bondable individual with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
- The ability to work under pressure, lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs), and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
