Job Summary

The Director of Engineering is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the City's infrastructure development and maintenance. This role requires a strong technical background in municipal engineering, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the City's infrastructure development plans and strategies.
  • Oversee the management of infrastructure projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Engineering Department and other City departments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including City Council, community groups, and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Engineering Department, including staff supervision and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Municipal or Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in New Brunswick.
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering and public works, with a strong background in infrastructure development and management.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
