Job Summary

The Director of Engineering is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the City's infrastructure development and maintenance. This role requires a strong technical background in municipal engineering, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the City's infrastructure development plans and strategies.
  • Oversee the management of municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, water and sewer systems, and land development.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the City's engineering department and other municipal departments.
  • Collaborate with other City departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Manage the City's engineering budget and resources to ensure efficient and effective use of funds.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and community groups.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in municipal engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Municipal or Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in New Brunswick.
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering and public works, with a strong background in infrastructure development and management.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
