About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Carpenter (General Repair Technician) to join our team at On Side Restoration. As a GRT, you will be responsible for rebuilding and restoring damaged personal property in response to disasters such as fires, floods, and crime scenes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and restore wooden structures, including framing, drywalling, and painting
  • Install ceilings, knockdown, and texture
  • Install insulation and vapour barriers
  • Install doors, trim, moldings, and baseboards
  • Install hardware and cabinetry
  • Take on rebuild claims and complete from start to finish

Requirements

  • Experience working in construction environments
  • Tools and skills to use them
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and passion for quality
  • Safety mindset
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check
  • Ability to communicate in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
  • IICRC certification (restoration focus)
  • WHMIS
  • First Aid
