Position Overview

We are seeking an entry-level engineering graduate to join our team as a Project Technician. This role will provide an opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the Irving Shipyard Project in Halifax, NS.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze data to monitor production and modify plans as necessary to achieve maximum production.
  • Plan and develop work plans for project-related operations.
  • Coordinate operational survey needs with the survey department.
  • Provide daily support and coordination with craft supervision.
  • Coordinate the procurement of temporary or permanent materials as assigned by the Project Engineer.
  • Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of construction activities, as assigned by the Project Engineer or Superintendent(s).
  • Assist with environmental monitoring as needed.
  • Assist in the generation of daily reports and assembly and maintenance of proper job records.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental or Construction Management disciplines considered).
  • Ability to prioritize and handle deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office; AutoCAD and Primavera P6 scheduling program is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately read contract drawings.
  • Previous internship or experience in a construction setting is a plus.

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
