We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Portfolio Manager to join our Vancouver-based Information Systems team at Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and support of our business applications and systems infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
As a Portfolio Administration Systems Manager, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for the team, including systems strategy, project planning, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders, other managers, and system vendors.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand and confirm investment objectives, processes, and priorities.
- Define, analyze, and document business requirements with business stakeholders.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate internal resources to ensure systems run smoothly and efficiently.
- Liaise with third-party vendor support staff as necessary to facilitate the resolution of operational issues.
- Provide coordination for the strategic planning, design, development, user training, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of high-quality and cost-effective technology solutions.
- Ensure technology solutions are aligned with investment objectives and priorities.
- Stay current with investment processes and industry standards through continuous learning and research.
- Provide code reviews, mentorship, and solution recommendations to team members.
- Ensure reliability of current systems and work with other managers to plan for the future roadmap of various software systems that align with enterprise priorities and goals.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4+ years' experience working in a leadership role.
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
- Experience working in an institutional investment firm is an asset.
- Strong leadership skills including planning and leading projects.
- Tech savvy with proficiency in.NET, MS SQL, and cloud technology (e.g., Azure).
- Analytical mind with problem-solving skills and ability to perform deep thoughtful analysis.
- Operational excellence with a track record of achieving high-quality work and getting things done.
- Collaborative communication skills with a collaborative spirit.
