Job Summary
This role plays a pivotal part in the international student enrollment journey, from interest to arrival on campus. The incumbent will participate in student recruitment events, ensuring effective representation of the university at various local and international venues. They will also plan and execute events, ensuring seamless execution and impactful engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide services for international students, workers, and their family members through advice and guidance on immigration, student wellness, and academic support services.
- Offer consultation and advice on completing Revenue Canada income tax returns to international students and temporary residents.
- Provide consultation/advice to faculty and staff on student cultural transition issues related to performance or behavior.
- Compose comprehensive briefings for pre-arrival, orientation, and as-needed information advising for incoming international students.
- Develop and deliver programming and workshops, adapting content to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
- Develop and coordinate pre-arrival and orientation programming, planning new initiatives for international student support services.
- Represent Queen's University in professional international education networks, such as the Ontario Association of International Educators and the Canadian Bureau for International Education.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for transition and success programming for intercultural learners.
- Direct, allocate, and supervise the work of other staff.
Requirements
- Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent, with trade certification, qualification, or ongoing learning to remain current in the field.
- More than 3 years and up to 5 years of experience.
- Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) certification.
