Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative and predictive maintenance on our equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and implement maintenance instructions from supervisors and senior technicians.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on plant equipment to eliminate operating problems and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as per drawings and blueprints to support equipment maintenance and repair.
- Regularly inspect and maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties as scheduled and maintain accurate records.
- Install and align equipment to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Adhere to safety and environmental rules and regulations to prevent accidents and environmental harm.
- Work overtime as needed to support unscheduled downtime and on-call rotations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support the team and achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance principles and practices.
- Understanding of maintenance equipment and tools, including welding and fabrication techniques.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and written repair manuals.
- Understanding of safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of technical training in general maintenance or a related field.
- 2 – 5 years' experience in general maintenance or a related field, with a focus on preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
