Job Title: Community Inclusion Support Worker

Location: Vancouver Island

Position Type: Part Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (16 hours/week)

Wage: $24.41 - $27.89 per hour

Job Summary

Bonaventure Support Services is a leading social service agency on Vancouver Island, providing a range of services and opportunities for adults with diverse abilities. Our focus is on person-centered support, promoting dignity, independence, and individuality. As a Community Inclusion Support Worker, you will establish and maintain meaningful relationships with individuals, encouraging their participation in community activities and life skills development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support with daily living activities, including personal care, behavioral, nutritional, and recreational needs.
  • Advocate for choice and assist individuals in developing life skills, such as physical, social, emotional, and vocational skills.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Uphold the policies and procedures of Bonaventure Support Services, modeling our mission statement, values, and code of ethics.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment, promoting the dignity and rights of individuals.

Qualifications

  • Preferred education and/or experience working with individuals with diverse abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment.
  • Must be in good health and physically able to perform job duties.

Required Documents

  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
  • RCMP Criminal Record Check.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
