Job Summary

We are seeking a Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River.



Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical/receptionist functions in support of client care
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as transcribing physicians' orders and processing appointments
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive work environment
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment


Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
  • One year of recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
