Job Summary
We are seeking a Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clerical/receptionist functions in support of client care
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as transcribing physicians' orders and processing appointments
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive work environment
- Maintain accurate records and files
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
- One year of recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
