Network Administrator Job Description

Freedom Graphic Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Information Services Department, this position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of network administration, including servers, desktop systems, communications, hardware/software, and peripheral systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support network administration, including endpoint backups, access control, user and endpoint administration, e-mail and internet access, peripheral systems, and applications support
  • Hardware and software administration to ensure optimal deployment of resources
  • Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test, and implement solutions
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related devices
  • Develop and conduct various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications
  • Network monitoring for availability and performance issues
  • Perform network and system maintenance programs
  • Deploy and configure network hardware and software per change management standards
  • Document network problems and resolutions for knowledgebase
  • Participate in on-call rotation with Network Administrators
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of a Windows server and desktop environment
  • Knowledge of setting up remote access for users
  • Ability to support network peripheral devices
  • Working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server, and desktop technologies
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and apply them as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network
  • Ability to function successfully in both team and independent work environments
