At Govan Brown & Associates, we are seeking a dedicated Health Safety Specialist to join our team in Toronto. With a strong commitment to exceptional service, quality work, and innovation, our company has demonstrated excellence since 1994.

We offer a comprehensive compensation package, estimated at $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This salary is competitive within the industry, considering the job requirements and the location.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Executing all Health & Safety policies, programs, and processes on assigned construction sites.
  • Leveraging and maintaining successful relationships with our site management team and utilizing strong knowledge of construction safety to advance our robust safety culture.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3 years of experience working with a general contractor or construction management company leading health & safety on commercial construction sites.
  • A Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • NCSO certification or working towards it is an asset.
  • WSIB certified committee member.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR A + AED.
  • Valid driver's license is an asset.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively hold others accountable for working in a safe manner.
  • Relationship savvy and interpersonal skills to demand the respect of all stakeholders.
  • Commitment to recognizing and mitigating risks.
  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including MS Outlook.

We prioritize safety at GB, with daily safety activities woven into our operations and safety programming throughout the year. We also offer a $400 Boot Allowance every two years to ensure employees have access to CSA-approved safety boots.
