Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with Nova Scotia Health's policies and procedures, and meeting provincial standards and accreditation requirements.
The Manager will work closely with the Zone Director, Chief of Psychiatry, and other stakeholders to provide strategic and operational leadership that supports excellence in service delivery, integration of mental health and addictions service provision, and collaboration with other program areas.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in a recognized mental health and/or addiction health discipline, or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in the mental health and addictions field, with formal leadership experience in the healthcare sector. They will possess excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development, continuous quality improvement, and the ability to manage human resources, financial resources, capital/material assets, and information. They will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with evidence of their use in establishing partnerships and respectful, productive, collaborative internal/external stakeholder relationships.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $43.90 - $58.33. The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
