At GPAC, we're seeking a skilled Family Lawyer to join our team. As a Family Lawyer, you'll play a crucial role in managing assigned caseloads, drafting and responding to correspondence, and preparing pleadings and trial briefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned caseloads and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Draft and respond to correspondence, including pleadings and financial disclosures
  • Prepare pleadings, mediation, and trial briefs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Engage in tele and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts, demonstrating empathy and professionalism
  • Prepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials, showcasing strong analytical skills
  • Track billable time and maintain accurate records
  • Assist supervising lawyers in all phases of the practice, providing support and expertise

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to the Alberta bar
  • 2-3+ years of experience practicing Family Law
  • Empathetic and level-headed demeanor to handle sensitive family law matters
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
