Job Description

This is a GTA-based position that requires travel to client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Forensic reviews of baseline and progress construction schedules and providing input to the project team.
  • Developing risk registers and key contractual obligations from contract reviews.
  • Reviewing prime contracts to determine obligations, liabilities, and highlighting risks.
  • Managing contract administration processes and results.
  • Providing interpretation of prime contract language.
  • Developing contract management activities to ensure compliance with the prime contract.
  • Managing contract reporting activities and identifying and tracking deliverables.
  • Developing correspondence with clients as appropriate to request necessary changes and modifications to meet project requirements.
  • Assisting in negotiations concerning changes.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate contractual correspondence.
  • Negotiating change orders, variations, and change issues.
  • Claims avoidance and management, including preparation of claims submissions.
  • Analyzing bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Negotiating subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
  • Liaising with project teams on a variety of matters as required.
  • Developing and implementing district and company-wide best practices and policies.
  • Conducting monthly reviews and reporting of potential claims and opportunities with the Vice President and District Manager.
  • Supporting project pursuit teams and estimating.
  • Developing tender and RFP qualifications.

  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management or a related field.
  • 8+ years' leadership experience in the construction industry.
  • A strong background in contract management.
  • Excellent financial and numeracy management skills.
  • Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contracts.
  • Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work to achieve them.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and investigative skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills at multiple levels.
