About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our Capacity Engineering and Analysis team, where you'll play a key role in shaping our cloud cost optimization strategy. As a member of this team, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and reduce costs, ensuring we optimize for scaled cloud use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize large-scale systems within the team, making informed decisions about risk and long-term maintainability.
  • Drive technical directions of projects, mentoring and up-leveling junior engineers on the team.
  • Support core backend systems for Capacity Engineering and Analysis and other teams within Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure they're set up for success in regards to their AWS costs.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar organization dealing with significant scale.
  • Success in leading initiatives that have reduced cloud costs.
  • Exposure to public clouds, ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud cost management (FinOps, cloud financial management, cloud economics).
