About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Automation Specialist to join our team at Velixo. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the end-to-end test suite for our sophisticated Microsoft Excel add-in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Suite Maintenance: Identify and prioritize testing scenarios, develop and maintain automated tests, and ensure the test suite is up-to-date and efficient.
  • Test Case Development: Create and document test cases to ensure thorough testing of our product.
  • Exploratory Testing: Conduct manual testing to identify and report defects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our product manager and developers to identify testing opportunities and ensure the test suite aligns with product goals.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in a STEM field (computer science, technology, mathematics, or engineering).
  • Communication Skills: Good written communication skills in English.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of SQL, JSON, XML, XPath, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience with Selenium Web Driver/Playwright or alternatives.
  • Testing Experience: Experience in writing automated testing scripts and exploratory/manual regression testing of desktop or web-based software.
  • Writing Skills: Technical writing skills for producing clean and concise test cases.
  • Productivity: Proven ability to deliver excellent productivity without sacrificing testing quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business Software Experience: Experience working with business/ERP software.
  • Database and Web API Testing: Database and Web API testing skills using DBMS queries and REST clients such as Postman.
  • Excel Object Model: Working knowledge of the Excel object model.
Work Arrangement
  • Full-time: Full-time position for Canadian citizens; for overseas candidates, an hourly arrangement with at least 35 hours/week availability.
  • Remote Environment: 100% remote environment with flexible working hours.
