Project Manager for Sustainable Shared Mobility

Halifax Regional Municipality invites applications for a permanent position of Project Manager, Shared Micromobility. This role is part of the Project Planning & Asset Management team within Public Works.

The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of HRM's shared micromobility program, enabling bike share and e-scooter share in support of municipal objectives for mobility, sustainability, and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select service providers for bikeshare and e-scooter share businesses in HRM right-of-way.
  • Ensure organizations under contract with HRM comply with terms of the agreement.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for parking/storage hubs on municipal land.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to decision-making on cross-HRM shared micromobility responsibilities.
  • Manage project budget, schedule, team composition, communications, quality, and risks.
  • Ensure legal, regulatory, and municipal requirements are adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Planning, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in managing complex projects in a municipal or transportation context.
  • Project management training and PMP certification is considered an asset.

Technical / Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong project management skills in a multi-disciplinary municipal and transportation context.
  • Technical knowledge of shared micromobility and mobility management principles.
  • Knowledge of municipal government operations related to permitting and regulating the right-of-way and parks.
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal government regulations and programs.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, 35 hours per week

Salary: Level 7 Non-Union, Salary Band: $76,490 - 105,170

Work Location: Eric Spicer Building, 21 Mount Hope Avenue, Dartmouth NS
