Educational Support Professional

Kayla's Children Centre is a renowned institution providing comprehensive care and education to children with disabilities, behavioral challenges, and complex medical needs. As an Educational Support Professional, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to empowering these young individuals to reach their full potential.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, in-person position covering a maternity leave period, commencing on January 6, 2024. You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of experts, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, music therapists, and behavior analysts. The ideal candidate will possess strong behavior management skills, ABA training, and leadership abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Create personalized learning plans for students based on their unique abilities and needs.
- Maintain open communication channels with families to ensure collaborative support.
- Develop and implement engaging activities tailored to each student's requirements.
- Supervise and mentor teacher assistants to ensure seamless team execution.
- Employ individualized reinforcement techniques to promote academic growth.
- Teach in various settings, including large groups, small groups, and one-on-one instruction.
- Implement Independent Activity Schedules and social skills, life skills, and self-regulation strategies.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address student progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student development.
- Implement behavior management protocols and record data accordingly.
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification is highly desirable.
- Special Education Part 1 Additional Qualification and experience working with students having Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD are considered assets.
- Proven ability to work with diverse learners and children in educational settings.
- Strong behavior management skills and ABA training are essential.
- Leadership skills and teamwork abilities are necessary.
- CPR and crisis prevention certifications (preferred).
