Role Overview

DP World Australia is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to support the administration and implementation of our health, safety, security and environmental programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards, as well as collaborating with our team to standardize HSSE processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the implementation of standardized HSSE systems, programs, policies, training and campaigns to prevent injury and ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the DP World Australia team to standardize HSSE processes across the organization.
  • Develop and implement SE improvement plans aligned with our regional strategy and company requirements.
  • Audit HSSE programs to reduce loss, recommending and implementing actions for improvement.
  • Create a network of internal and external alliances to implement policies, programs, procedures, standards, training and processes.
  • Ensure incident prevention/abatement through detailed injury and incident reporting, data analysis and investigation compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary training in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences/Hygiene or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role with experience coordinating Safety and/or Environment Programs; prior experience working in an industrial and/or unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and achieve buy in and ownership to quality standards/initiatives with all departments and levels.
  • Sound judgement and analytical thinking that enables decision making, ability to manage projects and prioritize and manage timelines.
  • Self-starter with a positive, hands-on approach and the ability to work as a team member.
