Job Summary:

The HSSE Advisor will be responsible for the administration and support of the health, safety, security and environmental programs for DP World Saint John Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement standardized HSSE systems, programs, policies, training, campaigns and programs to prevent injury and ensure compliance with regulations and DPW standards.
  • Collaborate with the DPW World Canada team to standardize HSSE processes across the BUs.
  • Develop and implement SE improvement plans aligned with the regional strategy and DPW requirements.
  • Audit HSSE programs to reduce loss, recommending and implementing actions for improvement.
  • Create a network of internal and external alliances to implement policies, programs, procedures, standards, training and processes.
  • Ensure incident prevention/abatement through detailed injury and incident reporting, data analysis and investigation compliance.
  • Support Safety Programs between all Saint John operational terminals.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Post-secondary training in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences/ Hygiene or similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role with experience coordinating Safety and/or Environment Programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Sound judgement and analytical thinking that enables decision making.
  • Self-starter with a positive, hands on approach and the ability to work as a team member.
  • Fluent in English.
