Job Summary

Foam Lake Service Station is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations and lead a team of 3-4 staff members. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and control daily operations, ensuring the smooth running of the service station.
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Manage staff and assign duties, providing guidance and support to ensure team members are working effectively.
  • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, and the impact of competitors' operations on sales.
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold, taking into account customer preferences and market conditions.
  • Implement price and credit policies, ensuring they align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
  • Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses, ensuring the service station remains financially stable.
  • Determine staffing requirements, taking into account the needs of the business and the skills of the existing team.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, providing training and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Conduct performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to help team members improve their performance.
Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the service station or retail industry.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide a high level of service to customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Working Conditions

  • Working hours: 40 hours per week.
