We are seeking a Child Development Assistant to join our team at Locus Kids. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

About the Role

This is a permanent position, requiring 35 hours of work per week. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and development of young minds.

Responsibilities
  • Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Maintain daycare equipment, promoting a clean and well-organized space for learning and play.
  • Engage children in storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, fostering creativity and imagination.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, providing valuable insights into their development.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A college diploma or equivalent experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in a daycare or similar setting.
  • HIGH FIVE training (principles of healthy child development), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Locus Kids offers a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, you will enjoy:
