Lead Early Childhood Educator for Child Development Programs

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Early Childhood Educator to oversee child development programs at SimplySmart Child Care Centre & Montessori.

Job Summary:

This permanent, full-time position involves leading a team of early childhood educators in implementing engaging and interactive programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development in children aged 0-5 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Designing and implementing child-care programs that support overall child development
  • Leading activities such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local attractions
  • Assisting in record-keeping with early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Engaging children in various activities through storytelling, teaching songs, and crafts
  • Guiding children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • P preparingsnacksand arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and preparing reports for parents or guardians
  • Discussing progress and problems with colleagues at staff meetings
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations
  • Establishing behavior guidelines
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Developing collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers
  • Maintaining a safe environment for children's health, security, and well-being
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of other early childhood educators and assistants

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification
  • Membership in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral communication abilities
  • Interpersonal awareness and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Experience an asset

Working Conditions:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Anglais language of work
  • Permanent employment

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on location and experience.
