Job Summary

The Lead Child Care Specialist is responsible for providing coverage and support for Macaulay's child care centres in the absence of the supervisor and when extra support is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and facilitate planning, implementation, and execution of programs to achieve annual goals and strategic objectives consistent with the Agency philosophy, vision, mission, and values.
  • Implement new integrated projects or strategies supporting the team by functioning as a key contributor accountable to monitor project goals and measure desired quality outcomes.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality programs and community development experiences to children and families, respectful of diversity and social inclusion.
  • Coordinate and implement a range of community outreach and promotional activities to recruit children and families to achieve optimum enrolment in programs.
  • Objectively evaluate referrals of children with extra support needs for placement into the program, identify, and access resources required to support integration.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education with 3 years of experience or diploma with 5 years of experience in group care.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong working knowledge of child development, the Child and Early Years Act, and Toronto Children's Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with children with extra support needs within a child care setting.
