Job Summary

The Delivery Service Specialist plays a critical role in providing direct to retail deliveries for a dedicated Metro customer. This position requires a customer-centric approach, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while fostering a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a cargo van to conduct deliveries on predetermined routes using a GeoTab GPS system.
  • Adhere to completion of all documentation according to SOPs, including manifests and obtaining signatures.
  • Load totes with product into the van for delivery, ensuring product integrity.
  • Maintain a clean delivery van and perform daily pre/post shift safety inspections.
  • Follow SOPs regarding the safeguarding of Metro and its customers' property against theft.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and the Logistics Coordinator to return damaged or stale dated product and transport unaccepted product back to the DC.
  • Establish a positive relationship with retail customers by understanding client expectations and addressing service concerns.
  • Adhere to established uniform requirements and maintain a professional image.

Requirements

  • Experience as a delivery driver in a time-sensitive, customer-interfacing environment is preferred.
  • Comfortable using an on-board GPS navigation system.
  • Must agree to a criminal background check and credit check.
