We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Professional to join our team at Extendicare Canada Inc.

$50,000 - $70,000 per year

Job Description

The RN will play a vital role in enhancing the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily, adhering to established standards and principles.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure resident/patient care is provided according to established nursing standards and principles.
  • Assist in the assessment and monitoring of residents/patients, developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating care plans.
  • Manage and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit, including orientations and supervisory duties.
  • Monitor performance, conduct performance appraisals, and refer problems to the Director of Care.
  • Provide direction to the nursing department in the absence of the Director of Care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Appropriate current certificate of competence from an approved institution for the province.
  • Registered/eligible for registration with an approved professional institution for the province.
  • Previous similar experience in community or long-term care, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks based on urgency.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills.
  • Developed creative problem-solving skills to consider the 'big picture'.
