About the Role
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for ensuring a safe working environment? We're seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to company standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Conduct regular inspections of facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Investigate Incidents: Participate in accident and incident investigations, following up on corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and maintain current programs, records, and reports related to health and safety, government, and environmental compliance.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate daily with management on issues related to facility safety, food safety, and environmental concerns.
- Assist with Audits: Support third-party and regulatory audits in their respective areas of responsibility, ensuring timely implementation of corrective action plans.
Requirements
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Safety Knowledge: Proven knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, federal laws, and collective bargaining agreements is required.
- Education: Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from an approved institution, along with certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED training, is preferred.
- Work Experience: Minimum work experience in a dedicated health and safety position with knowledge of industrial environmental/regulatory compliance is necessary.
