Job Overview

A highly skilled Geochemist is needed to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. as a Senior Geochemist. This role requires a strong background in water quality and geochemistry, with experience in environmental assessments, modeling, and permitting.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of geochemical and water quality components of projects, including environmental assessments, models, and monitoring programs.
  • Analyze and interpret geochemical and water quality data to provide technical support for water resource and environmental projects.
  • Perform research on specific technical issues or projects related to geochemistry and water quality.
  • Collaborate with other scientific and engineering professionals within the practice to deliver high-quality results.
  • Prepare technical reports and perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of technical documents.
  • Execute data analysis and data visualization using technical software to present findings.
  • Contribute to proposal development and project task financial and schedule management.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with Canadian and provincial water quality guidelines, legislation, regulations, licensing, and permitting, particularly relating to mining in British Columbia.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to lead field crews, perform environmental monitoring, or participate in off-site meetings with clients and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to communicate solutions in writing, verbally, and graphically.
  • Experience preparing environmental assessments/impact statements and other regulatory applications.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant consulting experience in the mining sector, including mine waste geochemistry assessment, water quality predictions, water quality modeling, or the assessment of water quality impacts.
