Electronics Technician Job Description

Nasittuq Corporation is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our team in delivering critical services to remote Arctic locations. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and corrective maintenance on radar, satellite communication, and electronics test equipment at NWS Long Range and Short Range Radar sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic, problem-solving, and repair services for radar and communication systems.
  • Install and replace satellite communication components, including RF/IF equipment, Advantech Transceivers, LNAs, and SSPAs.
  • Conduct verification procedures to ensure installations meet Implementation Instructions.
  • Interface with Nasittuq's LSS staff and the North Warning System Command Centre (NWSCC) to obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Maintain site cleanliness, package waste for disposal, and return removed equipment to the Logistics Depot.

Requirements:

  • Education: Two-year electronic technician program from a recognized institution or Canadian military equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years of related experience in maintaining electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of data communications systems, data and video monitoring, and satellite communications systems.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, and BER test units.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, manual dexterity, and experience using MS Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable working in remote Arctic locations under physically demanding conditions.
