Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Urban Planning and Development Project Manager to lead our team in Calgary. As a key member of our urban planning and design studio, you will play a crucial role in driving project delivery, working with large teams, and bringing your subject matter expertise to inform and offer value to our clients.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for leading projects and strategy, managing client interface, and maintaining and strengthening client relationships. Your focus will be on delivering complex and comprehensive planning and development projects, utilizing your knowledge of provincial and local planning policy in the preparation and management of planning, policy, and urban design studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, and direct the work throughout the life of a project to successfully deliver to the client.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships and play a key role in client management and satisfaction.
  • Manage complex and comprehensive planning and development projects.
  • Utilize your knowledge of provincial and local planning policy in the preparation and management of planning, policy, and urban design studies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7 years of experience in public and private sector community planning.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of land use and development processes, applicable government regulations and planning policy/theory.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning policies and processes in Alberta, specifically in the Calgary region.
