Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on non-technical facility components, including walls, floors, and other systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on facility components, including troubleshooting and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Comply with established processes and practices, as well as internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection regulations.
  • Monitor and inspect facility technical and non-technical components, and respond to routine service requests.
  • Operate facility mechanical, electrical, and other systems, and manage work order life cycles.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs, and ensure that deficiencies are identified, recorded, and escalated.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
  • Knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components.
  • Strong client-service orientation, with a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills, including data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings and information.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong environment, health and safety mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated maintenance and repair skills.
  • Valid drivers' license.
  • Enhanced security clearance requirements.
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
  • Building Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC) or equivalent.
