Job Title: Hardwood Floor Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Hardwood Floor Technician to join our team at Woodbusters Flooring Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining hardwood floors in commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Prepare floors for installations
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
  • Smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood
  • Smooth rough edges using belt sander or smoothing wheels
  • Sand, trim, grind, or clean products into final form using hand tools
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Vacuum floors
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in flooring installation
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
