Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Prepare floors for installations
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
  • Smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood
  • Smooth rough edges using belt sander or smoothing wheels
  • Sand, trim, grind, or clean products into final form using hand tools
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Vacuum floors
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Own transportation
  • Own vehicle
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Efficient interpersonal skills
  • Judgement
  • Organized
  • Team player

Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a variety of settings, including commercial and residential locations. The job requires physical demands, including handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Security and Safety: A criminal record check and driver's validity licence check will be required.
