Key Responsibilities- Analyze medical, personal, and financial information to assess risk and make informed decisions.
- Classify risk and gather additional information as required to make informed decisions.
- Approve cases within authority limits and submit cases exceeding limits for co-signature.
- Negotiate with reinsurers to secure favorable decisions for clients.
- Liaise with business leaders and advisors to deliver exceptional service and expertise.
- Communicate decisions effectively to financial security advisors and clients.
- Document decisions in the underwriting system.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Individual Life Underwriter.
- Existing Life and Critical Illness signing authorities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Influencing and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of medicine and risk factors.
- Service-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented and accuracy.
- Specialized training: ALU certificate and commitment to ongoing education.
